The Reform UK leader Claims Teachers of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Racial Topics

The political figure stated that educators would initiate walkouts within weeks a Reform UK election victory, accusing them of “poisoning our kids” by instructing students that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

At a gathering for a Michigan-based religious institution, Farage outlined his viewpoint on British schools, stating that the “Marxist left” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I expect a teachers’ strike very quickly after winning the next general election,” Farage commented in response to questions.

“They are corrupting young minds. They instruct children to feel guilt about their nation. They inform little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is a victim and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is an oppressor. They are dividing us, not uniting us. They are feeding this negative culture.”

Reacting to these assertions, Daniel Kebede dismissed the idea that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “absurd”. He pointed out that any strikes must relate to educators’ working conditions, and questioned whether Reform would attack these immediately upon entering government.

“Farage has built his public life on dog-whistle politics and currently, similar to other figures, he is lining up teachers and their unions for a conflict,” the union leader said.

“This is highly reckless. Neither I nor our union – advocate such divisive theories as he’s suggesting … If he were to lead the government he would undermine state services, particularly schooling … and the outcome would be catastrophic for students and learning.”

The party, which tops surveys by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on a proposed education policy and does not appear to have appointed an education spokesperson.

Nonetheless, his comments indicated the party would overhaul the educational framework. Farage declared: “We have got a massive job with education – absolutely herculean. And, it won’t happen quickly; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”

Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to analytical thought, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Paying tribute to a conservative activist, Farage said: “My goal for schooling is to teach critical thinking – to educate individuals that there are two points of view and they should decide for themselves rather than current practices where views are labeled good or bad. This is a huge undertaking in both Britain and America.”

The party has conflicted with a major educators’ organization, after Kebede called the party “far right and racist” and dismissed Farage as “a cheap imitation”.

Farage has accused Kebede of being “an avowed radical” … someone who is absolutely determined that young minds be corrupted through education, their minds should be poisoned regarding national issues” and has argued that the union is trying to indoctrinate youth opposed to his party.

Roughly a million individuals work in schools in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has about 450,000 members.

National strikes over educators’ salaries and work environment in 2023 led to significant interruptions in educational institutions and extensive missed instruction for students.

During the American gathering, the Reform leader also vowed to promote the online educational material of the institution in the UK. He said such groups were “part of the fightback”, noting: “I am serious. I’ll assist attract vast numbers of youth to these educational programs. I pledge this tonight and I will follow through.”

The institution, a religious educational establishment, offers free courses. According to its online description: “Comprehensive learning is vital for well-being and to maintain the benefits of civil and religious liberty. It offers these beautiful courses for free to every interested learner.”
