The Congressional oversight panel has released a collection of around 70 photographs obtained from the property of former convicted sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein.

This constitutes the latest in a series of publication from a cache of more than 95,000 images the panel has secured from Epstein's property. It includes pictures of quotes from the book Lolita written across a woman's body, and obscured pictures of female foreign passports.

This action comes just hours before the 19 December deadline for the DOJ to disclose every documents connected to its inquiry into Epstein.

"These photos raise further questions about exactly what the Department of Justice has in its possession," said the Democratic lead of the committee, Robert Garcia.

What is in the Photos Made Public

A number of the images made public on Thursday show Epstein speaking with scholar and advocate Noam Chomsky aboard a private plane; Bill Gates standing next to a female whose features is obscured; Steve Bannon sitting at a table across from Epstein, and previous Alphabet president Sergey Brin at a evening meal.

These are the newest wealthy, powerful figures to be photographed in Epstein's estate photos published by the House Oversight Committee - earlier released pictures also include US President Donald Trump and ex-president Bill Clinton, as well as director Woody Allen, former US Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, attorney Alan Dershowitz, Andrew Mountbatton-Windsor, and others.

Appearing in the photographs is is not considered indication of any wrongdoing, and many of the photographed figures have stated they were never involved in Epstein's unlawful actions.

In a press release released with the image publication, Lawmakers on the US House Oversight Committee noted the Epstein estate's representatives did not offer context or timings for the images.

"Photographs were chosen to provide the general populace with clarity into a typical cross-section of the images received from the estate, and to offer perspectives into Epstein's circle and his exceptionally troubling behavior," the statement states.

The publication also includes multiple images of excerpts from the Vladimir Nabokov literary work Lolita penned in ink across several locations of a female's body, like her chest, lower extremity, pelvis, and rear. Lolita tells the tale of a minor who was groomed by a middle-aged literature professor.

An example of a passage from the book scrawled across a female's torso reads, "Lolita: the tip of the tongue traveling of three steps down the palate to alight, at three, on the teeth".

The release also contains a series of images of women's travel documents and identification documents from nations around the world, like Lithuania, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine.

A large portion of the information on the papers, such as identities and dates of birth, is obscured but the panel said in a press release that the travel documents belong to "individuals whom Jeffrey Epstein and his co-conspirators were involved with".

An additional image shows Epstein positioned at a table intimately surrounded by three individuals whose faces have been redacted - one has her hand on Epstein's torso under his shirt, and another is crouching to look at a adjacent computer. Epstein can be seen to be helping the third attach a bracelet.

A further photograph released is a capture of text messages from an unknown sender who states they have been supplied "some girls" and are demanding "$one thousand dollars per female".

Photograph Disclosure Occurs Before DOJ Cut-off

The committee has a vast number of images in its holdings from the Epstein property, which are "at once explicit and mundane," its announcement on this week clarified.

The oversight panel first subpoenaed the holdings of Epstein, who died in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on accusations of sex trafficking, in August.

The images and files the Epstein estate submitted to the body are separate from what is commonly termed "the Epstein documents". Those are records under the Department of Justice's control related to its separate inquiry into Epstein.

Under the recently passed law, which Donald Trump enacted last month, the DOJ has a deadline of 19 December to publish its documents. The full nature of the contents included in the DOJ's records is unclear, and it's likely that a significant portion of the material will be heavily censored, similar to Congressional documents
